Catch Up Funding, COVID-19
In Autumn 2020, the government announced additional funding for schools to support children and young people to catch up lost time following school closures due to COVID-19. The funding allocation is calculated on a per pupil basis and will be received in Early 2021 and Summer 2021.
At Wombourne High School the impact of national lockdowns on learning has been minimised through virtual lessons and support to all of our students. However, it has been a difficult time for our students and we want to support them in every way to recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and so that they can achieve fabulously well in all they do.
It is expected that schools use the additional funding in a way that suits their cohort and circumstances. To support schools to make the best use of this funding, the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) has published a coronavirus (COVID-19) support guide for schools with evidence-based approaches to catch up for all students. This guidance has been used in assigning the additional funding.
Details of how this funding will be used specifically at Wombourne High School to support our students is detailed in the Catch-up Spending Plan 2020-2021.
