Duke of Edinburgh
Duke of Edinburgh Award
Wombourne High School has been running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) scheme very successfully for over 15 years and we are proud to be a Directly Licensed Centre.
The DofE programme has a hugely positive impact on our students, offering a unique opportunity to develop independence, resilience and confidence through a range of personal challenges and experiences. It is widely recognised and respected by colleges, universities and employers, making it a valuable achievement for young people as they progress beyond school.
At Wombourne, students are supported through their DofE journey by our dedicated DofE Manager, Mrs Probert, who works closely with participants to ensure they get the most from the award. The programme encourages students to challenge themselves through volunteering, physical activity, skill development and expedition work, helping them to grow both personally and socially.
We are proud to work in partnership with Gecko, who provide high-quality expedition support and expertise, ensuring that all students experience a safe, well-organised and rewarding outdoor adventure as part of their award.
Students can access and manage their progress through the official eDofE platform here:
