Enrichment Timetable

Enrichment at Wombourne High School

At Wombourne High School, enrichment is not an “extra” — it is a central part of who we are and what we offer every student. Our approach is rooted in a carefully planned Personal Development programme, which forms the backbone of the wider student experience and underpins everything we do beyond the academic curriculum.

Our Personal Development offer is designed to develop confident, resilient and socially responsible young people, fully prepared for life beyond school. It brings together key elements such as PSHE, careers education, character development, leadership opportunities and wellbeing support into one coherent and progressive journey. This ensures that every student not only succeeds academically, but also grows in character, confidence, values and life skills.

Building on this strong foundation, enrichment is delivered through our Enhanced Curriculum and Pathways model. All students take part in timetabled enrichment sessions, where they opt into structured pathways designed to broaden their experiences and develop key skills such as teamwork, resilience, creativity and cultural awareness.

These pathways provide a rich variety of opportunities — from sport, performance and STEM, to community engagement, creative arts and leadership. Crucially, they are designed to ensure equity of access, meaning that every student benefits from enrichment regardless of background or confidence, and experiences a programme that is both meaningful and progressive.

Together, our Personal Development curriculum and Pathways model create a coherent enrichment journey, allowing students to explore their interests, discover new strengths and develop the skills they need to thrive in modern society.
