What Will I Study?
Do you want to know the secret behind Usain Bolt�s success? Are you keen to follow the same training plan as Ben Stokes? Could you be the next Michael Oliver? Then this could be the course for you!
You will get to look into all the different components of fitness that go into creating the ultimate sports performer. Through looking at fitness tests and a range of different training methods, you will begin to understand how to improve and become better at playing, officiating and leading in sport. You will be able to devise training plans to suit your own individual needs and gain a greater understanding of how your body systems work together to help you achieve this.
How will I learn?
You will study 3 different units across 2 years both within the classroom and practical environments. This will be taught through teacher led discussions and paired / group activities alongside opportunities to demonstrate your presentation and practical skills in order to further demonstrate your knowledge. You will create a personalised training plan for your main sporting activity, which could go on to support your development in sport outside of the school environment

How Will I Learn?

Compulsory Coursework Unit - Preparing Participants to Take Part in Sport and Physical Activity. (30%)
Compulsory Coursework Unit - Taking Part and Improving Other Participants Sporting Performance. (30%)
Written Examination - Developing Fitness to Improve Other Participants Performance in Sport and Physical Activity. 1 hour 30 minutes (40%)
What skills / attributes are required for this course?
Have a high level of interest in sport both in and out of school
Show regular participation in PE lessons
Take part in sport outside of lessons, either through extra curricular clubs or external sports clubs
Be organised and have the equipment required for each lesson
Have the desire and enthusiasm to succeed
