Many students wonder if they'll ever really need to know how to use the quadratic equation or find the volume of a cone. Not realizing how useful maths can be!
GCSE Maths is among the most important qualifications you can achieve in your life. Gaining a GCSE in maths is investing, not only in your abilities but your future. A wide range of careers require a grade 4 or above. More importantly, GCSE Maths gives you problem-solving and logic skills you will carry with you always.
During your studies you will study and understand algebra, geometry, probability and statistics. This will be underpinned with an emphasis on problem-solving so you will have demonstratable knowledge by the time you sit your exams.

How Will I Learn?
You will continue to be taught mathematics over the next two years, building upon the skills and knowledge you have gained in years 7 to 9. You will learn to apply mathematical skills to a wide variety of problems and also to look at a problem and decide what maths is involved and needed to solve it.
How Will I Be Assessed?
There are two tiers of entry; Foundation (grades 1 � 5) and Higher (grades 4 � 9) and 3 papers, 2 calculator and 1 non- calculator paper.
Paper 1 - 1 hour 30 minutes (33.3%)
Paper 2 - 1 hour 30 minutes (33.3%)
Paper 3 - 1 hour 30 minutes (33.3%)
