Citizenship is a mix of lots of subjects and will help you to gain a deeper knowledge of democracy, government and law in the UK. There are 5 different units you will cover throughout the course. These will get you to think about wider issues such as: the Role of the Media and Free press, What is the role of the UK in international organisations?, the work of pressure grops and Trade unions, how charities and voluntary organisations run and their importance and How does the law protect the citizen and deal with criminals. You will also take part in an active citizenship project where you will work in a group to set up your own petition, or charity event and evaluate how this works from the planning to the execution of it. if you are interested in History, Geography, Law, Politics, Current Affairs and Sociology this is definitely something which covers all of these subjects.
