Andy Dyehouse was born in Wombourne and attended local infant and primary schools before going to King Edward VI school in Lichfield, at the age of 11, as a boarder. After leaving school in 1977, he returned to Wombourne and joined the Eagle Star Insurance Company in Wolverhampton. He had several roles with Eagle Star, and subsequently Zurich Insurance, before retiring in 2016. He is married with two children and has been a governor at Wombourne High School for 16 years and Vice Chair for the last six years. He is also a member of the Invictus Education Trust Finance and Audit Committee
